Heritage Hill Museum & Historic Gardens Artist Residency Location: 'The Big Screen', Harmony Square, Greater Dandenong City Council Civic Centre Description: Digital Micrographic Film; Duration 1m 30" The film 'Apertus' ( unveiled; made evident; manifest...) relates to the investigation Avila undertook during a 3 month residency at Heritage Hill Museum & Historic Gardens. The public art work takes us through a journey of multiplicity not perceived by the naked eye. Exploring Heritage Hill's organic materials under the microscope (specifically the anther on a Hollyhock stamen from the museum's gardens), the film unveils the local beauty and affirms we are the sum of a myriad of particles in a complex universe of multiples. Supported by the City of Greater Dandenong. 2016
